Titanic, durante a sua fatí­dica viagem inaugural. O disco apresenta músicas ouvidas por todas as três classes de passageiros que viajaram no transatlântico, fazendo um belo mosaico sonoro de uma época posterior ao auge da música erudita e anterior ao jazz. É um som que mistura o clássico e o popular do iní­cio do século. A nova White Star Orchestra, comandada por Ian Whitcomb, mantém os mesmos arranjos originais de 1912. Para quem se identifica com a década de 1910 (como eu), esse disco é um verdadeiro banquete auditivo. É como voltar no tempo e viajar no Titanic novamente...

Destaque para "Alexander's Ragtime Band", um dos primeiros sucessos de Irving Berlin, "Glow-Worm", de Paul Lincke, "Oh, You Beautiful Doll", de Nat D. Ayer, e a emocionante "Destiny", de Sydney Baynes.

Esse é um dos discos que não sai do meu CD-player nos últimos meses.
